Home Visits
Home visits are available to patients where doctors consider it to be necessary and appropriate. Please book home visits as early in the day as possible. The doctors also visit local Residential Aged Care Facilities and McLaren Vale and Districts War Memorial Hospital.

Repeat Prescriptions
Prescription requests may incur a $20.00 fee

Appointment Time
Please feel free to request your preferred GP for consultations and every effort will be made to accommodate your request.

Routine appointments are usually 15 minutes long. We request that you book a longer appointment time for insurance medicals, first antenatal visits, 6 week postnatal checks and if you have multiple problems or require counselling. New patients will require a longer appointment for their first visit.

Please advise us if you feel your problem is more urgent than our first available appointment so that we may be able to accommodate your needs.

You may wish to ring the Practice before your appointment to check whether your doctor is running on time. Emergencies are dealt with as they arrive and may affect your waiting time. When long delays are anticipated, reception staff will try to notify you if possible.

Reminder System
The Practice routinely sends reminders for Pap smears, and an increasing number of other health issues such as care plan reviews and over 75yr health assessments. If you do not wish to be included in our reminder system, please let a staff member know.

Telephone Advice
Patient calls are usually returned at a time suitable to the doctor such as lunchtime or at the end of the day. If your call is urgent, explain the situation to the receptionist who will deal with your call appropriately.

SMS Reminders

With your permission we will send SMS reminders for long appointments.

Referral letters/Certificates
Specialist referrals cannot be made after you have seen the specialist. Please arrange to see your doctor prior to your specialist appointment so that a referral can be arranged.

Certificates (sickness and compensation) cannot be post dated. If you require a certificate please make an appointment to see the doctor on the first day you have off from work.

Test Results
Your Doctor will inform you regarding the follow up of any tests requested.
